Banksy art shows love to Syria

The graffiti artist known as Banksy will project his famous animated image of a girl holding a red balloon across several international landmarks during a global vigil showing love to the people of Syria Mar. 13.

The annual global event will mark the third anniversary of the Syrian civil war. The campaign, #withsyria, aims to offer love and support for all of the victims of the crisis.

Banksy is a political activist based in the UK whose street art combines satire and humour to make political statements.

He reworked the image of the girl on several monumental global landmarks such as The Eiffel Tower, the Lincoln Memorial, the Rijksmuseum, and Trafalgar Square.

Red balloons are set to be released during the vigil around the globe.

Organizers of the vigil have said that the goal is to end the war by putting pressure on political leaders via the public.
