Alex Beaulieu-Marchand of Quebec City placed last in the men’s ski slopestyle final. He was the lone Canadian competing.
Beaulieu-Marchand fell off the rail in his first run in the final. It paralleled his first run in qualifications, in which he committed a similar error.
He pulled it together in his second qualification run scoring 85.60, which was good for sixth in a field of 32 skiers. Only the top 12 advanced to the final.
Fellow Canadian Olympic skiers Philippe Marquis, Marc-Antoine Gagnon, and Mikael Kingsbury were there to cheer on their countryman.

But Beaulieu-Marchand fell after his second jump, resulting in a score of 21.40 and a 12th place finish. The 11th place finisher had a score of 60.60.
Americans Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy, and Nicholas Goepper placed first, second, and third. All three finished with scores above 90 en route to sweeping the podium.
