Raptors finish strong before all-star break

The Toronto Raptors will head into the all-star break with a lot of confidence and a three game winning streak.

The team continued its recent string of success with a 95-93 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.

Although the game was close the Raptors managed to remain undefeated against a strong Washington team, thanks to a last second bucket made by Demar DeRozan which broke the tie.

Notable performances in the game included:

Raptor – Lou Williams – 27 points, 4 rebounds
Raptor – Demar DeRozan – 23 points, 3 steals
Wizard – John Wall – 21 points, 8 assists

Fans of the upstart team will be much relieved with the team’s improved play so far in February.

After a strong start to the season the team looked more like the Toronto Maple Leafs in early January. After winning just two out of 8 games in the first half of January, the team has won ten of its past thirteen games since January 19.

The win will no doubt provide a boost for Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, who will play for the Eastern Conference in the NBA all-star game this weekend.

The Raptors next game will be February 20th against the first place Atlanta Hawks.
