Brampton break-in leads to multiple-car collision

A suspect has been charged with break-and-enter, flight from police, dangerous driving and breaking probation after causing a four-vehicle collision on Queen Street and Torbram Road in Brampton.

Police received a call regarding a break-in at a Brampton business at 6:20am Jan. 22.  The suspect fled in his pick-up truck as the police arrived at the scene.

Police called off the high speed pursuit and shortly after the suspect hit a vehicle causing a chain reaction on Queen St.

A witness at the scene told CBC News she was stopped in her car when “a pickup truck just slammed into everyone.”

Two people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

David Richards was charged with breaking and entering, breach of probation and dangerous driving.
