Hamilton bus strike averted

Hamilton Street Railway bus drivers and the city of Hamilton reached a tentative deal to avoid a strike at 6 a.m. on Apr. 09.

HSR drivers were expected to legally strike at 12:01 a.m. EST on Apr. 09, 2015 because they failed to reach a deal on contract negotiations.

However, at 1.a.m. , information was leaked to the public and noted that negotiations were ongoing and that buses would still be on the roads.

Numerous issues have kept both sides at the negotiation table, including the bus drivers’ demand to extend their contract agreements.
