Canada has a new tennis star

Eugenie Bouchard may have lost her first Grand Slam semi-final to Li Na, but she has become a new symbol of Canadian tennis.

The reaction on twitter was swift.

The 19-year-old Bouchard is the first Canadian woman to reach the final four of a Grand Slam tournament in 30 years, and Canadian fans  are waiting for more wins from their new “golden girl”.

The winner of 2012 junior Wimbledon and the 30th seeded Bouchard swept her opponents on the way to her first Grand Slam semi-finals. Based on her performance at the Australian Open, the young Canadian tennis player has all potential to be the face of the tennis for years to come.

But for now, while the tennis experts are waiting for Bouchard’s new achievements, she became an inspiration for the young athletes all over Canada.
