Israel’s former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is in “grave” condition and his family is by his bedside, The Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer announced Thursday.
On Jan. 1, his conditioned deteriorated as he lost vital organ functions and developed a blood infection, according to The Jerusalem Post.
The Post also reports that plans for a state funeral are underway for the controversial political figure.
Sharon suffered a stroke eight years ago at the height of his political career as he was set to stand for a re-election and has since been in coma.
