Israel is facing international condemnation after launching a rare airstrike inside Syria on January 30. The Syrian military said a scientific research facility outside Damascus was hit.
Israel’s target was a convoy believed to contain anti-aircraft weapons for Hezbollah.
The Huffington Post reports that Hezbollah condemned the airstrike on Syria as an act of “barbaric aggression,” and expressed “full solidarity with Syria’s command, army and people.”
Syria and Iran have threatened to retaliate.
While the Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Abdul-Karim, has said that Damascus has the option to retaliate, he cannot predict when it will occur as it is up to relevant authorities to prepare for it.
The Deputy Minister of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, said the airstrike on Syria will have significant implications for the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.
