Wine to flow in Ontario grocery stores

Grocery stores across Ontario will soon be selling wine as well as beer on their shelves.

With the LCBO’s near-monopoly on wine sales slowly coming to an end, the government is set to issue more licenses to open privately run wine distribution outlets, giving preference to Ontario VQA wineries.

The initial number of stores to open these outlets is 70, but is expected to grow to 150 over the next few years.
