Marco Muzzo pleads guilty to six charges

29-year old Marco Muzzo has pleaded guilty to six of his 18 charges during a court appearance on Feb. 4.

Muzzo, of King Township, was charged in the fatal accident that left three children and their grandfather dead in September 2015.

The accused pleaded guilty to four counts of impaired driving causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.

On the day of the accident, police report Muzzo smelled of alcohol.

The court heard that two separate breathalyzer tests found that Muzzo was more than twice over the Ontario legal limit.

The parents of the three deceased children, as well as members of the Muzzo family, were present in the Newmarket court.

The Crown has granted Muzzo bail on $1 million split between his mother and in-laws. The Crown has also accepted terms that Muzzo remains living at his mother’s Kleinburg home, refrains from driving, and purchasing and consuming alcohol.

Muzzo is scheduled to face a sentencing hearing on Feb. 23.
