Two men found dead in separate Toronto shootings

The west and east ends of the city were subject to two separate instances of gun violence Jan. 20.

A 42-year-old father of two was found shot dead in a residential garage around 6:30 p.m. on the city’s west end near Kipling Ave and The Kingsway. The man has been identified as Alfredo Patriarca.

Det. Sgt. Joyce Schertzer is asking anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area to come forward.

Police are also asking those who witnessed a shooting near Victoria Park Ave. and Finch Ave E. that left one man dead and another man wounded.

According to police, the two men were sitting in a van on Morecambe Gate at 11:30 p.m. when they were shot at through the front window. Police say the deceased was in his 70s.

So far no arrests have been made, but the police have said they believe there are two suspects who fled the area.
