Explosion vapourizes Toronto home

Update: Victim of explosion identified

The man who was killed in an explosion in an east-end Scarborough home has been identified.

He is 57-year-old Paul Zigomanis, a resident of 3356 Brimley Road who was found dead under rubble after the explosion.

Police say Zigomanis was known to them.  He was listed by Toronto police as a suspect in assault and death threats in November 2013.

Police are investigating whether the explosion was caused by some type of criminal act. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for later today.
