Mega country pop star Taylor Swift announced on Tumblr Apr. 9 that her mother has been diagnosed with cancer.
Swift found out about the news after visiting the doctor with her mother to get screened for any health issues.
On Tumblr, Swift expressed that she was saddened to inform her fans her had been diagnosed. She also encouraged them to remind their parents to get checked for cancer screening that could possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle.
Thousands of fans expressed their well wishes to Taylor Swift and her family.
Taylor Swift has sold over 40 million albums, and has won numerous awards including seven Grammy awards and 12 Billboard awards.
