Saying goodbye to Max Khan

Hundreds flocked to the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) centre in Mississauga to pay their respects to Oakville’s Ward 6 Councillor Max Khan on Mar. 30.

Khan, 46, died Mar. 29 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after being admitted with flu-like symptoms.

Kahn had battled leukemia multiple times in his life.

Friends, family and colleagues all gathered to bid farewell to the respected community leader.

Among the attendants were Liberal MPP Kevin Flynn, Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, former Liberal leader Bob Rae, and former Toronto mayor turned City Councillor Rob Ford.

Anyone wishing to pay respects can add to the condolence book, which is available to sign from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays until Apr. 7.
