Burlington teacher sentenced to 10 years in Indonesia child sex case

Burlington teacher Neil Bantleman has been sentenced to 10 years in an Indonesian prison after being found guilty of assault and child sexual abuse on Apr. 2.

Bantleman was arrested in July 2014 on accusations of the sexual abuse of three young children at a prestigious international school.

The family of the former educator is baffled and shocked with the court’s decision.

They are currently working to appeal the charges at the Superior Court level.

Bantleman has maintained his innocence throughout the four-month trial.
