Colts owner had $29,000 at time of arrest

Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay, had $29,000 in cash and an array of prescription drugs in his car when he was arrested for DUI, according to the Associated Press.

The contents of the police report were released Mar.27.

The money and drugs were scattered throughout the vehicle when Irsay was pulled over on Mar. 16 for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Irsay was pulled over in Carmel, Indiana after he failed to use turn signals and stopped suddenly in the middle of the street. Irsay denied being drunk, but police reports indicate that Irsay was so disoriented that he had could not stand.

He was booked on misdemeanour charges of driving while intoxicated and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.

In 2002, Irsay admitted to having a substance abuse problem. Irsay’s family says he is seeking treatment at a facility outside of Indiana.
