Dufour-Lapointe sisters qualify for finals

Four Canadians have moved on to the finals for the freestyle skiing women’s moguls.

The top 10 scores in the qualifying round go directly to Saturday’s finals. Team Canada made a strong showing, and the chances of medalling in this event are good.

-Chloe Dufour-Lapointe finished second.

-Justine Dufour-Lapointe finished third.

-Maxime Dufour-Lapointe finished eighth.

-Audrey Robichaud finished ninth.

Canada had the highest number of qualifiers in this event. Hopes are high for Canada’s freestyle ski team — the second largest team of Canadian athletes in Sochi.

It is rare to have three siblings competing at the olympic level in the same event. The Dufour-Lapointe sisters are medal favourites, especially Chloe and Justine. Justine was ranked second in the world going into today’s event.
