The Toronto casino debate has gone digital, with MGM unveiling a new website promoting the benefits of a possible casino in Toronto.
The website lists many positives that an MGM casino in downtown Toronto could bring, including increased tourism and job opportunities. The site also offers an option for users to enter their contact information for updates about the progress of the casino bid.
Those opposed to a casino being built in Toronto are also voicing their thoughts online. No Casino Toronto states that a casino would have a negative impact on the city, and would in fact kill tourism and provide no new jobs to Torontonians.
It is unclear who will win the online war of words, but it’s worth mentioning that No Casino Toronto’s Facebook page has approximately 6500 “likes”, while MGM Toronto only has 92.
