It was an exciting day for Oakville native Kyle Bekker, a 22-year-old midfielder chosen third overall by Toronto FC in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft in Indianapolis.
Bekker has much experience with the game, participating in Canada’s national program for many years after coming out of the Oakville Blue Stars minor system. He spent four years at Boston College, and was the MVP at a recent MLS scouting combine in Florida.
Bekker was one of few Canadians in this draft class, and will be named Friday to the senior national team.
