Unlike the Jays, the Leafs are shedding players. Tim Connolly was not on the ice for the free practice Thursday, because he was waived earlier in the day.
Connolly has been a major disappointment for Toronto, scoring only 13 goals and 36 points last year despite being paid nearly $5 million.
The move comes one day after the Leafs traded another centre, Matthew Lombardi, back to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for a draft pick.
